The tenant said he had been in the house 11 years, and paid £308 to go in. He now asked £175. He had improved the character of the house, turning it from a rough place to a select one. He did less trade, but he got his money.
Mr Weston, for the brewers, stated that the trade had gone down from 187 barrels when Yelland went in to an average of 60 barrels the last three years. They offered the tenant £100.
The committee fixed the tenants share at £120, The owners receive £300.
