Watford Observer. 20 October 1906 Compensation in respect of 15 houses fixed.
The Sawyers Arms, Hertford. The clerk reported a letter from the Inland Revenue Commissioners stating that they had determined £105 as the amount that should be paid as compensation to the persons interested in the Sawyers Arms, Hertford.
A further letter from the Inland Revenue went into some length about the legality of making a correct judgment on the value from a distance; which should therefore be judged locally. The amount of the compensation was then fixed at £451 including all interests, and agreed.
