LEAVING HIS MASTER IN THE LURCH
Edward Wildman, carter, was summoned by Mr Joseph Burr, landlord of the Old Crown Inn, Wood-street, Barnet, for absenting himself from his employment without giving proper notice, whereby his master had sustained a loss amounting to 16s.
He was discharged on a payment of 8s costs and 7s.6d damage.

1874 May, Herts Advertiser.
APPLICATION TO TRANSFER THE LICENSEE OF THE OLD CROWN INN
Mr W. O. Boyes, solicitor, made an application for a provisional transfer of the license of the Old Crown Inn, Wood-street, from the late Joseph Burr to Miss Rosa Burr, the eldest daughter. He said the late Mr Burr made a will appointing Mr Godson, surgeon, the executor.

Joseph Burr late of Wood Street, Barnet, Publican, died at Wood Street on 9th April 1874. Probate to Rosa Elvina Burr of Wood Street.Spinster, the daughter of one of the Universal Legatees.
