Address formerly given as Rye Common. Old Highway - it was open until last weekend (8th August 2010) when it closed for the last time. Official reason was smoking ban and recession, but the landlord's interpretation of 'recession' was that Punch Taverns were being pressed by the banks and had pulled the plug on him. Planning application to build 14 dwellings on the site was turned down by Broxbourne Council in January this year, but already a revised application for 13 dwellings has been submitted. ***
