Researching my family history I found that three generations of my family
were shown in the 1911 census as resident in the Red Lion, Breachwood Green
with my great-grandfather shown as “Publican”. Robert French was a
blacksmith all of his working life and could have only been in the licensed
trade for a very short while as it shows a different licensee the following
year. *
