Herts & Cambs Reporter & Royston Crow. 19 March 1909
The Bull, Much Hadham owners were Messrs Benskin & Co of Bishops Stortford.
Supt Hassell reported that Much Hadham had a population of 1,199 with 297 inhabited houses. There were nine public houses, three being fully licensed and the number of inhabitants for each licensed house was 133.
The Bull was situated in the main street of the village, the Rose and Crown being 242 yards north of it and the Red Lion 355 yards from it and also to the north.
Evidence was given by Mr Charles Grant, the licensee, Colonel C Healy, managing diret=ctor of the district for Messrs Benskin and Mr F Wiltshire, traveller for the Company.
Colonel Healy showed that the house was very commodious, exceptionally clean, and had done an average trade per annum for the past five years of 135 barrels of beer and 54 gallons of spirits. The hotel trade had been cultivated.
The license would be renewed.
