Ex Police Sergeant Meades Death.
Ex Police Sergeant F G Meade, formerly of the Maidenhead Police, died, after a short illness, on March 25th, at the George and Dragon, Northchurch, Berkhampstead, Herts.
Sergeant Meade served in the Metropolitan Police and the Oxfordshire Constabulary, but most of his police service was in connection with the old Maidenhead Borough Force and the Berkshire Constabulary.
For some time after his retirement on pension, he continued to reside in Maidenhead, but about two years ago he took The George and Dragon Hotel, Northchurch, Berkhampstead, Herts.
He was 68 years of age. The funeral took place at Maidenhead Cemetery, and was attended by representatives of the Berkshire Constabulary, viz. Sergeant Perry, of Maidenhead, and Sergeant Woolford, of Cookham. The officiating clergyman was the Rev Claud Drury, curate of St Marys, Maidenhead.
