My ancestor Lance Tapley Simmons used to be the landlord of the Swan. He had 
the pub from 1866 until 1870, and then moved to the 
One Bell in 1874, and 
then the Victoria Tavern in 1890. My G-G Grandfather Thomas Simmons ran the 
Victoria Tavern in 1881 until 1890 when Lance took over. ***
