My grandfather Harry Masters was the licensee of The Bedford Hotel in the late 1940s, and the photographs are of he and my grandmother Eileen and my dad Ron. We all migrated to Australia in the early 1950s. *

In 1939, Harry Thomas Masters is in the RM Police at Plymouth along with his wife Eileen (nee Howard) and two youngsters. His birth date is 23rd Jan 1894, and hers is 16th May 1896. He had enlisted in the Royal Marines light Infantry in 1908; and they married in 1917 at Alverstoke, in Hampshire.
