My ex husband (Mick MARSHALL) and I were managers of your pub 1978/79 we oversaw the alterations when we were first there to turn the decor into an Edwardian themed pub. We went to the London illustrated news to pick prints to be framed to be put up.
We had a grand opening day in November 1978 with London themed entertainment, pearly kings and queens etc.
I still have pictures of the day. We had wonderful times in our short times there.
Danny Lynch the wrestler became a good friend as he was a regular. Roger castle artist who has since become quite famous.
We left there to manage the Robin Hood night club at the top of Charing Hill which has for many years now been an Indian restaurant.
