My family comes from Bonnington, Kent and lived in and ran the Royal Oak
Public House for many years. My father was back to visit in 1969 and I
was there in 1985. Although by then it was no longer a pub we did get a
chance to see the inside. *
My Great-Great Grandfather Thomas Huckstep had it for years in the mid
1800s and my Grandfather Eldon Huckstep was born there although he
emigrated to Canada in 1906. I believe my Great Uncle Stanley Huckstep
continued to run the pub in the early 1900s. *
