Bromley and West Kent Telegraph. 10 March 1906 - Cases for compensation in Bromley.
Brewery Tap stood in Brewery road, turning off the main road at Bromley common. The population was somewhat scanty in that part of the district. It was a small house, an old structure, and not altogether suitable for public requirements because the accommodation was very poor.
The number of inhabitants served by this house could not possibly be more than 70, because there were only 14 cottages in this particular locality.
Cycle clubs visited the Brewery Tap in the summer, and the house had a future before it.
Mr W Cox, the licensee, said his takings amounted to £15 or £20 a week. He was getting a good living; and a number of local people had signed a petition in support of the licence.
License to be renewed provisionally with a recommendation for compensation.
