In the Market square, Bromley. A very small house with two entrances from two separate streets and the accommodation was poor.
There were four fully licensed houses within a radius of 50 yards. The Dukes Head was only 12 yards away. There was the Bell Hotel about 50 yards away, and the White Hart and the Rising Sun also about 50 yards away. In addition to which there was the Three Compasses about 100 yards away.
Benjamin Dudley Bennett, the licensee had held the license for 12 years. The only place to find breakfast at 6am and license was renewed.
