COOLING, or COWLING, is a small parish, six miles north of Rochester, nine
miles east of Gravesend, and three miles from Higham station. The population in
1851 was 128. The church is a small and ancient building. The living is a
rectory, in the patronage of John Allison, Esq., and incumbency of the Rev.
Simpson Sergrove. Eastbury. Broomey, and Childs,lie N.E.
Letters received through Rochester, which is also the nearest Money Order
Office.
