DETLING with THURNHAM. - Detling is a village and parish, in the hundred of Maidstone and lathe of Aylesford, West Kent, is two miles and three quarters N.E. from Maidstone station, and seven south of Rochester. The church is a very small building, and is dedicated to St. Martin, the living is a vicarage, in the patronage of the Archbishop of Canterbury; the Rev. Robert Cobb, M.A., is the incumbent. The population in 1851 was 353. Harpole is half a mile west; Frinningham one mile and a half N.W.; Binbury, two miles north.

POST-OFFICE. - Thomas Reynolds, Eeceiver. Letters arrive through Maidstone, which is also the nearest Money Order Office.
