Dover pub history index
at 60 Folkestone Road before 1913; As can be seen from the photo in 2008, this pub has recently closed and is being converted to flats. It was named due the proximity of the Dover Priory Railway Station and the maintenance engineers.
During WW2 a German shell exploded in the Folkestone Road, near to the Engineer and although causing a large crater and damage did not destroy the pub. ***
