By the clothes of those in the photo: high collar and full length skirt for the woman - flat cap and a waistcoat for her companion, I should imagine that the photo was taken between about 1900 and 1910 and it may well be that the publican and his wife are posed in the doorway to mark an unusual occurrence, as there's a most interesting and very early motorised delivery vehicle parked outside - a Foden steam driven dray?
