My parents (Thomas and Catherine Begley) were licensees at the following pubs. Cob Tree, Ightham, in Kent July 1927 - July 1932 ..... this is now a day nursery. The Freemasons Tavern, 61 Howard Road, Stoke Newington (1932-1937) - now demolished. The Goldsmiths Arms, Southwark Bridge Road, Southwark (1937 - until my fathers death in 1940). My Mother ran the Railway Tavern, Kelvedon in Essex (1940-1945). **
