LYMINGE or LIMINGE is a small village 12 miles from Dover, in Elham union,
Loningborough hundred and lathe of Shepway. The church of St Mary and St Edburgh
is an old building. The living is a rectory, the Rev. Robert Charles Jenkins,
M.A., Rector. The Wesleyans have a meeting house. The population in 1851 was
883.
EACHEND HILL or ETCHING HILL is one mile S.E.; Broad street half a mile south;
Yew Tree Cross half a mile north; Ottinge one mile N.E.; Sibtin half a mile N.
W.; Longage one mile N.W.; Woodlands half a mile west; Rhoads or Road Minnis one
mile and'a half N.W.; Shettlefield one mile and a half east; Hempstead two miles
west.
