My great grandfather, Thomas William Archer was the innkeeper here in 1920. My grandparents were married from this pub, as they both gave it as their address on the marriage certificate (but as Peter Street rather than St Peter St.) I don't when my great-grandfather took over the pub, possibly after William Radford, or how long he stayed there, but had obviously left by 1930. He died in 1936 in Maidstone aged 72, he would have been 65 in 1929. **
