My dad was the Landlord of the Good Intent from about 1956 to 1959. His name
was Walter Frederick ANSELL. The town of Margate suffered a very large loss of
trade when the American USAF left the Manston airbase, and that loss of trade
caused my dad to make the decision to sell the pub on. **
My father Walter William Fagg was a publican of the
Wheatsheaf Inn, Eastchurch,
Dover Priory Hotel,
Woolpack Inn, Iwade,
Good Intent, Margate and the Kings Arms, Ramsgate.
