Thanet Advertiser 01 May 1926 :
Kings Bench Division, a Mr George Scaffer, of Murray road, Camden Town succeeded in an action for the recovery of £471, balance of money due, against Mr William Wiseman, of the Ship Hotel, Margate.
The parties are brothers in law, and the action arose out of a transaction in which the pliantiff said he advanced the defendant money to secure a public house in London.
Plaintiff acted as manager at £4 a week. The venture proved unsuccesful.
Defendant contended that they were partners in the business, but the Judge held otherwise, and in his judgment gave the plaintiff costs.
