Rochester pub history index
Formerly called the Fortune of War (until at least 1870). At 184 High Street in 1891 and earlier. This pub is now closed – the building on site is not the one in the postcard view and looks to be of around 1920s vintage, I have no evidence so far that the pub survived long enough to have occupied this building. This pub is visible in the immediate left foreground of the postcard view of the Kings Head. **
