STOCKBURY is a small straggling village, four miles S.E. from Rainham, eight miles from Chatham, and seven miles N.E. from Maidstone. The church is a handsome building. The living is a vicarage, in the incumbency of the Rev. David Twopenny. The population in 1851 was 589 There is also a small Dissenting place of worship.
