West Wickham Public Houses
WEST WICKHAM is a village and an extensive parish, pleasantly situated on the
borders of Surrey, three miles and a half S.W. from Bromley, and four south from
Croydon. The population in 1851 was 732. The church of St. John the Baptist is
an ancient building, with a square embattled tower, and is in good repair. The
living is a rectory, in the diocese of Canterbury, and patronage of Sir Charles
Francis Farnaby, Bart., who is the lord of the manor. The Eev. Thomas Austin,
M.A., is the incumbent.
POST-OFFICE. - Robert Harman, Postmaster. Letters arrive from Bromley, which is
also the nearest Money Order Office.
