On Saturday night last, a farm labourer, named William Bowker, from Wennington, overcome by frequent potations of the Lancaster nut brown ale, went with a militiaman to sleep with him, at the house of Mr John Wilcock, the Three Tuns, in China Lane.
When he woke in the morning, he found to his dismay that his companion had decamped with the whole of his wearing apparel, leaving his regimentals in their stead. ...
