Stonegate News - June 2022 :
The popular Salt Box in Litherland, Liverpool has reopened following a £160,000 refurbishment bringing the community the best of a great British local and unbeatable pub sports.
The much-loved pub is a local hub of activity hosting many events for all to enjoy. Long-standing Operators Jeanette Rowan and Reg Whewell are well-known for their amazing charity and community fundraising and support alongside classic pub hospitality.
The pair have been running the pub on Linacre Road for seven years and are delighted with its new look. New HD TVs and audio equipment mean there is outstanding BT Sport and Sky Sports viewing throughout. There is a new darts surround and throw while the pool table has been relocated to improve access for players.
Jeanette said: “This pub is a real gem in the community. It’s such a part of Litherland. We are over the moon with the refurbishment and just so glad to be open again for all our customers. The seating has been refurbished and is more comfortable so everyone can really settle in and enjoy their time here. There has been a facelift throughout the pub and it looks great. Come in and see! Sit back and enjoy a drink and a catch up with friends, family and neighbours. The future is bright for The Salt Box and Litherland.”
The pub is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards. It invested £160,000 in The Salt Box during its recent refurbishment so the Liverpool community can enjoy this friendly neighbourhood pub for years to come. There is a function room which groups can hire and a beer garden. It’s pet friendly and all are welcome.
Reg added: “We are a traditional community pub and thanks to these latest works we can serve the community even better. We have kept all the character of the pub which people love and added some extra comforts which people deserve in this day and age. We are here for the community, serving good quality, good value drinks with great service.”
The drinks menu has been extended with a wide choice of local, national and internationally-renowned beers, wines, ciders and spirits, a choice of cocktails, plus soft drinks and low and no alcohol drinks.
