The Tailors Arms stayed in the Cooksons family until the 1970's and from at least the 1861 census. It was always latterly known as Cooksons Bridge as it is right next to Gorsey Bridge; and run after WW2 by Jim Cookson born in Bootle and his wife, Elizabeth Cookson (nee Jackson) along with their son young Jim Cookson.
