Wednesday 14 September 2022 - Stonegate Media:
A £138,000 investment has been made into the Preston-based pub, seeing a fresh new look introduced to the historic New Britannia.
With no stone unturned, a complete overhaul of the pub’s appearance has been made, with the New Britannia retaining the charm it has held over the past 180 years. With a fresh new look, guests will experience a new but recognisable feel when visiting this local, community pub.
With entertainment at the pub being at the forefront of importance to the pubs offering, regular events including its Friday and Saturday night DJ Karaoke and Sunday Game Show nights mean that there is something for everyone at the Heatley Street local. As well as this, the pub’s first quiz nights are also due to be added to the billing, details of which can be found via the venue’s social media page.
Elsewhere, guests of the New Britannia can be kept entertained through the addition of a new illuminated dartboard, perfect for friendly competition whilst enjoying a few drinks. The pub now also has six large TVs showing BT and Sky Sports, which means there really is not a bad seat in the house to watch all of the biggest sporting events with friends and family.
The New Britannia’s refurbishment has also seen it’s sizable garden area given a new lease of life, with new lighting, AstroTurf, and a new colour scheme to freshen things up. There has never been a better time to enjoy the last of the summer sun, with a nice cold refreshing drink in hand in the heart of Preston.
Speaking on the reopening of the pub, Licensee at the New Britannia, Adam Leyland said “We’re all so happy with the refurbishment and new look of the pub. This is a new chapter for the venue and we’re all looking forward to restoring the electric atmosphere, which this pub is well known for. Guest’s feedback so far has been great and they are really enjoying our new look. If you haven’t had a chance yet, Sharon and I would love to see you here at the New Britannia and enjoy an evening with us.
“We have lots of exciting events planned, including fundraisers for charities. On Saturday 17th September, we will be running a quiz to raise funds for Motor Neuron Diseases Association, a cause which is very close to my heart, whilst we also look to help Macmillan Cancer Support, through our future events.”
The New Britannia is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards.
