The 1714 Will of Thomas Mackinder (National Archives PROB 11-598-205) states as follows:
"I give and devise unto my said beloved nephew William Mackinder all that my lease of the Adam and Eve and lands therein mentioned with my copper and grate and all other materials in and about the same as also my lease of my house in the Baile adjoining to the freehold messuage theretofore devised to him – respectively held of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln for a term of years thereon respectively to come and expire Ernestly praying that the Dean and Chapter would be pleased that in regard the said house in the Bail is much out of repair and will cost a great deal of money to repair it to grant that upon the renewal of the Adam and Eve lease it may be joined in the same lease they being both ??? and the out rents being both due at one and the same time. *

In 1722 William Mackinder (a proctor of the Bishop of Lincoln's courts advertised what I believe is the same property in the Stamford Mercury. Stamford Mercury, 26 April 1722 :
To Be Let at May-Day Next
An ancient, noted and well-accustomed house for the entertainment and putting up of all manner of goods, as horses, beasts, sheep, swine, etc. standing very convenient for all Fairs and Markets, upon Pottergate Head above the Hill in the City of Lincoln, being a Road House leading to several parts of the Country, having very good conveniences as well for the reception of such goods, as the entertainment of the owners thereof, as well as other persons. The house is a good large house with stables, all in good repair, with other conveniences, together with a Yard, Grass-yard and Close thereunto belonging and adjoining. Enquire of Mr. William Mackinder of the Close of Lincoln, The owner thereof. Note: There is a very good New Sign and Sign-post ready fix'd *

Stamford Mercury 29 December 1774 :
A Mahogany Prospective Glass, One foot long, mounted with Brass, and draws out near another Foot longer; and when lost was lapped up in a linen Handkercheif - Whoever have found it, and will leave it at Mr Barrows, at the Nags Head in Wragby, or at Mr Ashleys at the Adam and Eve Inn, Lincoln, shall receive half a guinea reward.

Stamford Mercury 20 August 1790 :
Lost, on Wednesday last, from Lincoln, a black and white greyhound dog, and a red greyhound bitch. Whoever will bring themn to Mr Wilkinson's at the Adam and Eve, above Hill, Lincoln, shall receive half a guinea reward. August 18th 1792.

Stamford Mercury 09 May 1806 :
Lost, from the Adam and Eve in Lincoln, on Friday the 24th of April last. A Black Heiffer, about 1 1/2 year old, clipped on the near hip with the letter H and came from Fiskerton, near Lincoln. Whoever can give information, so that she may be had again, to Mr Holland, of Wigtoft, or Mr John Hill, of Cherry Willingham, shall receive half a guinea and reasonable expenses.
