Historical London public houses, Taverns, Inns, Beer Houses and Hotels.

Existed from at least 1800. [Green Street is now the Western half of Roman Road]; Address for much of its history was given as 1 Warley Street, & 7 Green Street in 1856. The pub was rebuilt after the second world war, closed in 1994 and was converted to office use. **

In its modern incarnation this was an Ind Coope pub later owned by Maple Leaf Inns and was converted to office use in May 1996. This pub's address is now 100 Roman Road, E2 and is currently used as a mosque and Islamic cultural centre. The pub was rebuilt 75 metres west of the original site in the 1950s, and the address prior to rebuilding was 1 Warley Street (sometimes given as 126 Roman Road). It is at 7 Green Street in 1856, and 1 Green Place in 1839 and earlier. *

The Weavers Public House prior to its demolition in the sixties. Then it’s address was 1 Warley Street (which was adjacent to Roman Road) Bethnal Green.
This photo is taken in the early fifties of the men's outing. I can identify my Uncle Mick Murray, Lesle Froggit, and brothers Charlie and Chris Mallendine who ran the fruit and veg stalls in Roman Road.
