This pub was established in 1865. The address in the 1871 census is 29 Barking Road. This pub has an interesting history. It originally stood at 357 East India Dock Road. It was completely destroyed during the Blitz, but continued to operate nearby from a pre-fab. This continued until 1958, when the pub was eventually re-built nearby at 26 Aberfeldy Road, where it remains open today (2006). ** Now known simply as the Aberfeldy, it closed around 2013 and is currently boarded up (2014). *
