One of Newington Green’s most striking and historic pubs, The Cellar Taps, has reopened after a £296,000 investment, serving all the best of British pub hospitality, unbeatable TV sports and with an enviable range of craft ales on tap.
The iconic pub on Newington Green Road is an unmissable building with its huge picture windows and large street corner presence. It has a long-standing reputation as a popular community pub serving quality real ales and that is set to flourish.
Thanks to these latest works, customers can enjoy an even wider selection of craft beers and cocktails alongside new and impressive drinks and food menus featuring a great range of pizzas and burgers.
As well as the stunning picture windows, the pub is known for its sweeping curved bar, an eye-catching lantern, striking ceiling and historic tiling. These key features remain while the seating and décor around the bar and back bar area are enhanced and refreshed. With the latest sound and vision technology, Sky and BT Sports can be viewed throughout. As well as all of the biggest Premier League fixtures, The Cellar Taps will also be showing Spanish football in the shape of La Liga. All eyes will be on the El Clasico on Sunday 16th October, which will see Barcelona take on Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Records show it has been listed as a London public house since 1868. Over the years, the much-loved pub has had several names, most recently The Cellars and Edinburgh Cellars and that tradition continues in 2022 with The Cellar Taps. All signify this is a brilliant pub with its focus and specialism in top quality hand-pulled ales and an ever-changing craft beers menu. The bar will also serve a wide range of artisan spirits, cocktails, wines, low and no alcohol drinks, and soft drinks.
