At 1 Church Street, Kensington in 1869. This is Barclays Bank by 1921. Converted to commercial use. Two metal signs bearing the pub's name and each topped with a civet cat motif can still be seen. * The Civet Cat, 41 High street & 14 Church street in the 1871 census

Civet Cat, 74 Kensington High Street - the original pub in 1899, looking eastwards. Kensington High Street was widened in 1903-4 and the buildings on the north side of the road including the pub were demolished. The Civet Cat was rebuilt at this time.
