The Portland Arms was built around 1848 and closed permanently in 1992. It can be seen in Minder Series 6 Episode 3 “The Return of the Invisible Man” when Arthur approaches a painter up a ladder to try and sell a suit, it was still clearly trading as a pub. This episode was filmed in mid 1984. **
