The Reform, Notting hill.
The license of this house in Portland road, Notting hill has been transferred four times since 1999. The rateable value of this beerhouse was £59.
There were 23 licensed houses within a quarter of a mile area, the Clarendon, a fully licensed house, being only 66 yards away.
Inspector Walker said the customers were mostly street traders, and the rough working class. There were no complaints since this current tenant had been in occupation.
The trade was in 1906, 360 barrels; in 1907, 328 barrels and in 1908, 269 barrels.
The owners were local brewers who had one house sent for compensation last year, and another on the list this year. They thought this a hardship. The house will be referred to Quarter Sessions for compensation and extinction.
