The Living History of Britain’s Pubs

Landlords, legends, census records, and lost taverns.

Three Tuns, 1 Portman Mews, South Marylebone W1H 6HP

Marylebone index

Originally, apparently, a refuge for local coachmen, servants and stable workers. I have Charles Sharoe as licensee in 1825.. It was a Greene King public house in 2017 and March 2026; although Greene King has announced plans to sell off, or convert 150 pubs into tenanted or franchised locations, as the UK hospitality sector struggles with rising costs.

Historical London public houses, Taverns, Inns, Beer Houses and Hotels.
