at number 5 in 1881, but by 1901 there
does not appear to be a number 5; Named the Islanders, it was also sometimes
referred to as Sexton’s.
The pub was best known as the headquarters of Millwall Football Club in its
early days around 1885. The Islanders was destroyed in an air-raid in the early
hours of 7 September 1940. **
