Peabody Arms, 140 Shadwell High Street, Shadwell E1

Renamed The Peabody Arms by the 1867 license transfer. A photograph of this pub of around 1898 can be seen in the book ‘Stepney, Bethnal Green and Poplar in Old Photographs’. By 1930, this is the Broad Street Boys Club rather than a pub. By 1938, the address changes to 409 The Highway. This pub is now demolished. **
