The Canterbury Arms mentioned in Sun Fire Office insurance records is on Dean Street (and in 1791 on Canterbury Square), which intersected with Maze Pond (the modern name for the street is Stainer Street. ), but it's also listed in the Southwark St Olave victuallers recognizances of 1825, so this may have been a different site to the north along Dean Street, Canterbury Square was located just south of the intersection with Tooley Street (where railway lines are now). *
