St George Hanover Square pub history index
The Coach & Horses is one of Mayfair's oldest surviving taverns and has remained largely unchanged since the 1770s. It was a Greene King public house in 2017 and March 2026. Greene King has announced plans to sell off, or convert 150 pubs into tenanted or franchised locations, as the UK hospitality sector struggles with rising costs.
