St George Hanover Square pub history index
The 1839 Pigots directory lists the White Lion in Derby Street, as the White Lion is at the Derby Street intersection. Converted into a town mansion along with 21 and 22 Curzon Street around 1905. **
The St George Hanover Square, London listing uses information from census, Trade Directories and History to add licensees, bar staff, Lodgers and Visitors; and includes such areas of London as Knightsbridge, Mayfair and Pimlico.

The Licensed victualler at the White Lyon in 1796 was a
Henry Fell. His wife was called Martha. This information comes from the Sun
Fire Office insurance records of the year. (Information taken from National
Archives website). ***
I also have a copy of Henry Fell’s will, dated 1808, which describes him as
“Victualler of Curzon Street, Mayfair.” I presume that this would refer to
the same establishment. Henry Fell is my Great(x4) Grandfather. ***
There is a trial about the theft of a pewter pot from the White Lion in
1815. “122. THOMAS CANTRELL was indicted for stealing, on the 31th of
October 1815 , a pewter quart pot, value 1s. 6d. the property of James Baker
. NOT GUILTY . ***
1815/JAMES BAKER . I am a publican , and keep the White Lion, in
Curzon-street, May-fair . On the 31st of October, the prisoner was detected
in stealing a pot of mine, and brought to my house. I am not sure that it is
my pot, but I think it is. ***
