My young Father, Jack Carnaby (aged 26 years) is sitting cross legged in the centre of the photo. The photographer has his back to the Parrs Head that was then in King Street, now called Plender Street.

The 1969 photo showing the "Parrs Head" name on the stone work at the top of the building, that was later removed as it became unsafe. Also the sign outside shows a picture of "Old Parr". I think the Brewery thought the pub was named after Old Parr (who was said to have lived to the age of 152?), but it wasn't, it was named after William Parr the first owner/builder.

Parrs Head transfer in May 1971 to Richard Gooding and Lyn Roger Hussey

I received from my Cousin, the transfer details of the Parrs Head when my Father left there in 1971. It shows a Richard Gooding took over the pub at that time and was earlier at the Roebuck, Pond Street NW3 and the Rose and Crown, Market street, Watford Hertfordshire. The last address shown was where he lived in Bushey Hertfordshire. ***
