This looks to have stopped being a pub quite some time ago. At Upper James street, Camden Town in 1869 and earlier; and at Stafford terrace in the 1881 census. Long demolished. The circa 1920s photo of the Stanhope Arms, Oval road, Camden is at the corner of James road (now Jamestown road). and is looking down Oval road towards the London Midland and Scottish Railway goods depot across the canal. The large building behind the pub is Gilbeys Gin Distillery. Both buildings were demolished circa 1936 when the new bottling plant, Gilbey House, was built on the site. ***
