Morning Advertiser 04 March 1818
Anti Monopoloy Committee, Crown and Anchor Tavern, Strand - Reduction in the price of porter
In consequence of the Licensing System peculiar to this country, the Public are less able to benefit by the Reduction made by Genuine Beer Brewery, Golden Lan, than they would be if the Trade were free. The existing Public Houses are, for the most part, engaged in particular interests, and it is impossible to open new ones. To assist the Public, however, as much as lies in their power, in obtaining the Genuine Beer, and at reduced price, the Committee have procured, and subjoin, a List of the Houses which retail the Golden Lane Porter. They trust that the Public will generally avail themselves of this information, as well on account of their own interest, as to encourage the liberal and useful line of conduct which the Proprietors of this Brewery have adopted. H Schutltes, Hon Sec.
