You may be intrested to know my relative William Cammack is recorded in the Old Bailey records as a publican in Wapping on 15 Apr 1801, where a soldier billeted on him complains to the court "This is a very bad house; it is kept open all night and shut in the day". ***

In 1811. "Holdens Annual London and Country Directory records William Cammack as a publican at the Earl of Effingham, 235 Whitechapel Road. He was still there in 1816 when William Cammack, of the Sign of the Earl of Effingham, Whitechapel-Road, in the County of Middlesex, Victualler, Dealer and Chapman" is recorded as going bankrupt [Gazette Issue 17202, 21 Dec 1816, p22. ] ***
