Acton Gazette, 25 March 1893
Mr Hannibal Adams applied for a licence to sell wine at the Bulls Head beer house in East Acton.
Mr Matthews who appeared for the applicant said that Mr Adams had considerable trade among athletic clubs, and it was for their convenience that he asked for permission to sell lighter drinks than beer.
The Chairman of the Acton Local Board, among others, including representatives of the clergy, had signed a petition in favour of the grant of this application.
Mr Collins, a member of the Pallinswick Cricket Club, said it would be a great convenience to the members of that club if the licence were granted.
The Bench granted the application.
