Joseph Gant, landlord of the Eight Bells beerhouse, Old Brentford was summoned for keeping his house open for the sale of beer during prohibited hours.
The client had served in the police force for 22 years, retired from it with a pension. In this case they would strain a point in his favour and dismiss the case.
