Morning Advertiser. 31 May 1892 - Transfer of Licences
Off Licences in Friern Barnet - Beer, wine and spirits, Sydney road, Colney Hatch. Application for a license for this house, The Royal Oak, under the 14th section to Thomas Reader, the new tenant, in the room of the late licence holder, Alfred Sharpe, who had been removed from the premises.
Previous renewal by Alfred Sharpe had been refused as he had been convicted and fined 40 shillings, but was under appeal. This was a request that a licence may be granted to this new tenant, who is an excellent character.
Albert Worrall, the proprietor of the Alexander Arms beer house in Alexander road opposed in that the previous tenant had never yielded up possession, and the bench agreed while the appeal was pending.
