Indian Queen, Strand on the Green, Chiswick W4

Strand on the green pub index

I have not yet been able to precisely locate this pub. In 1827 the pub was named as the ‘Indian Queen or Queens Head’ in lease documents. ** The 1871 census lists the address as at Pier place.

In 1898, he is noted as being at the Bunch of Grapes, Ferry lane, Brentford. In the 1901 census the manager was Henry William Maynard. That presumably ended before 1907 when it was demolished; although his daughter is baptised in May, 1903 in Guildford where he is listed a boat builder. By 1911 he is also listed in Guildford and resumed boat-building, his prior occupation and qualification. *
